New Beginnings

As I have thought over the last several months about life I have felt a drive to write more and study more on our economic state as a nation. Several years have passed that have proven to be so perilous to many of my fellow americans. I have seen many friends lose homes and jobs. I have witnessed the continuing lack of support in our nations educational system. I have seen many struggle with poor health and no ability to afford medications because of the costs and lack of health insurance. Taxes increasing and benefits decreasing across the board and corporate hogwash continuing to decay our beautiful nation right down to our very own government. What are we to do as individuals? How are we to take the great hand of those who have been nominated to govern our nation when the governing that has gone on for years has driven us to our current perilous state? That great hand that is now pressing on the middle and lower classmen of our society, continuing to push us to our knees before them.

America is the land of the free and home of the brave. It is a land of opportunity. It is a land where our forefathers sacrificed life and limb to allow their posterity freedoms from oppressive rulers and yet here we are with highly paid government officials that cannot seem to fix the problems before them. Where is the needed education, where are the problem solvers, the groups of valiant men and women who have been chosen by us to work together in guiding and directing this great nation? Where is American Unity?

Previous presidential races have clearly shown the great division amongst Americans. Parties screaming for justice and pay back from wrongs done to their families over a hundred years ago, groups screaming to change the current definition of marriage, groups screaming for the protection of the environment or the right to bare arms, groups screaming about womens rights and the rights of those unborn alike, our country has become a disorganized vocal modgepodge of virtues and values to the point of being completely incapable of fixing anything without being sued for the opposite of what they would fix. Are we all really this uneducated? Have we really come to the point that there will be no real resolution to any of the issues at hand in our country?

Over the last few years I have struggled as a single mom. I have worked very hard to support my son and people often looked at me as brave and strong in these hard economic times. What many of my close friends and family know is that I made it through my most difficult of times because of my faith in God. I had the support of family and friends and somehow made it through. In talking to some that have no belief in God they have gotten annoyed that I would give him credit for my hard work and effort. Even in my personal belief there are always those that will oppose my own convictions.

Religion has become quite a topic amongst our nation and government. I think of the faith and convictions of our founding fathers and am surprised that we have fallen as low as we have with removing any evidence of religion that we possibly can from our government when originally it was founded with a strong religious precedence. Our faith is what should be guiding our decisions. Our faith should help us realize that major change is necessary to save our great nation.

I would love to be the one with all of the answers. I would love to say that I know exactly what is needed to rectify the difficult decisions that are placed in the hands of our government officials. It is interesting watching them argue against each other when one believes they have a solution. It is interesting looking at the money that is spent and the issues that are thought to be resolved yet in actuallity they are not resolved.

Our nation is a great nation and yet many jobs are sent over seas because of cost savings or international reasoning. We need to keep our jobs. We need to be hard workers and not reliant on govenment support. We need to be educated in government issues and we need to voice our demands to our governing officials. Keep the jobs here!

The only answer that I have is that we need to stop being passive in our envolvement with politics. If we do not educate ourselves and make ourselves heard then the path we are going down will remain dreary. Stand up for your faith, stand up for your country and stand up for what is right.

Get envolved in the educational systems on a school level, a county level, a state level. If our children do not learn and have access to the education they need then more jobs will be pushed to the international spectrum. We must encourage our children and promote bright minds. Encourage them to think out of the box and create. They are the leaders of the future and we will need problem solvers then as much as we need them now.

If we sit by and expect things to be handed to us we will never move in a forward motion. We must start somewhere. This is my somewhere. I will be posting many little tidbits and updating my website with more information. I hope you will join me and start somewhere. We all need to work together to improve our great nation. We are all responsible and we are all capable.
